Notes: Hoobustank, in a surprise guest appearance, opened up for Incubus. Midway during their set, Doug Robb, lead singer of the band Hoobustank, made a one liner, "Tonight we have 3 great bands: Hoobustank, Ultraspank and Incubank" (Probably made in reference to the massive success Incubus was receiving with Pardon Me at the time). So, Hoobustank, Ultraspank and then Incubus came on.  Near the end of Ultraspank's set, Jose and Mike of Incubus came on stage and were disassembling Ultraspank's drummer's kit while he was playing. All he had left at the end of the song was a kickdrum and snare/hi-hat. As an act of retaliation (they all looked like it was in good fun), one of the guitarists for Ultraspank came onstage in a pair of boxers during Incubus' encore of "You Will Be a Hot Dancer". Also, before Incubus came on for their encore of, DJ Kilmore was playing a funky ditty, to which Jose started to writhe and wiggle his body in the form of a modern-art dancer.

Notes: DJ Kilmore did about a 1/2 hr DJ set as people arrived. Today was Jose's birthday, and right before "You will be a hot dancer" Brandon wishes him a happy birthday to which the crowd begins to sing Happy Birthday to Jose.  And they shared some of the Birthday cake with the crowd. They screw it up and Brandon makes a joke about it, and they all then finish the song. The band then breaks into "You will be a hot dancer", and during the interlude to the song they play part of TLC's "No Scrubs".  Overall a great show, the crowd was really into it and sang along with most of the songs. Also, during "Vitamin" the guys played an extended version of the interlude.  During the middle of Calgone, they play a little of Polices' "Walking on the Moon", and Brandon sang most of Stellar with a toy in his hand.  They played this show with Queen Adreena.

After New Skin a girl in the audience was on her boy friends shoulders getting ready to take her shirt off and Brandon said "now you're gonna have to take it off, come on everyone's waiting" and she took off her shirt and then he said "maybe we guys should show off our junk to the ladies, all the guys should whip out their dicks and say arrgh!!"

Notes: While 311 was on, who Incubus were playing with, Incubus all came out and Nick Hexum said to the crowd that Incubus is one of the best most original bands out right now.  During "Vitamin" the interlude turned into a Improv that lasted a few minutes. Incubus Played with The Kottonmouth Kings and 311 and they came on second. The funniest part of the show was halfway through Vitamin, Brandon stopped and stared at the audience with this big smile on his face.

This show was a private one at the Artist Direct Studio in Los Angeles, CA, there are only 14 people in the studio.   Plus, all the songs played were played acoustically by the entire band.

Notes:  There were many improvs between songs, one led by DJ Kilmore, and another where Brandon brought out his didjeridu.  At one point Brandon pointed to Tommy Trojan and said, "I promised myself I'd say something about this extremely homoerotic statue. Look at it, he's naked with a sword and a Mohawk." Calgone was tagged with "Walking on the Moon", Anti-Gravity had an good improv guitar solo, and during Vitamin they played a long version of the Djembe solo, then into the lounge version of A Certain Shade of Green, then into Madonna's "Like a Virgin", then back to finish Vitamin. Also during the Djembe solo of Vitamin, Kilmore and Jose began throwing drumsticks back and forth at each other. On another note, this was a free show, and nobody really showed up until about a half-hour before Incubus went on.

Notes: They played drive slower than usual, which sounded great. right before they played the warmth, Brandon said "this is for all the stoners in the back". during clean, Brandon whipped out his drums, and he and mike let the crowd sing the last half of the song.

Notes: Brandon said 'chaka kahn' once and very subtly, but decided to speak in tongues for a number of seconds to get the crowd laughing. (this show had an unbelievable amount of hard-core incubus fans in it and the boys were praised with A LOT of love. To go on, Brandon, after finishing Drive, called it the beer song in which all the moshers could go get some beer while they played a "ballad".

Notes: A couple of times, Brandon asked the crowd to scream really loud. The second time he did it, he told them to do it because it would piss off the neighbors. During A Certain Shade of Green, Brandon sat down while singing the chorus at the end. Before The Warmth, Brandon walked out to the front of the stage in by the crowd and said "I'm scared." Instead of the last chorus of The Warmth, he threw in some "oooh oooh oooh's." he also let the crowd sing the last chorus of Pardon Me. He asked for requests before they played Drive. He kept giving shout-outs to the people of IV (Isla Vista, the college town around UCSB) because they used to play there.

Notes: KIOZ radio show "when bands attack". incubus played with sprung monkey, foo fighters, taproot, the cult and deftones.  Brandon threw his beanie he was wearing out into the crowd. Brandon sang "drive" while sitting on the monitor in front of him. DJ Kilmore's little solo in "pardon me" after the first chorus was awesome because they turned off all the lights except two huge spotlights on him and made them flash like a strobe. Brandon also threw his water bottle into the crowd.

Brandon commented how they really looked forward to playing at the Amphitheatre for a long time, and was glad to have Jaws right next door. He also let the audience sing at the end of "Pardon Me". Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray was just walked through the seats at the venue after they finished

Notes: Jose had two pictures of a girl sort of hanging from his drums, after 'When It Comes' Brandon walked over to it and sprayed his water bottle all over it. Also after 'Nowhere Fast'...he walked over to Jose and exclaimed in the mic 'you'll give me 20 dollars to take a shit?'...everybody laughed then he asked if anyone in the audience had 20 dollars.  For Pardon me Brandon held the mic out over the audience and let them sing, you could hear it from the stands through the system. After Stellar he commented that the crowd was really loud, probably referring to the fact that we were singing the words and could be heard over him. For Vitamin the improvisations on the percussion and guitar were awesome.

Notes: During Stellar, a fan gave a ring to his girlfriend with the words 'You are stellar' etched into it. During The Warmth Brandon was dancing towards the drummer when he went to the pictures of girls taped up and touched them (like he had kissed his fingers and then gave the kiss to them). Brandon kept on calling mike, Michael Jackson, and when they played Pardon Me he told the crowd to sing along.

Notes: They were all dressed in Halloween costumes. Jose was Wonder-woman, Brandon was Spock, Mike was Queen Amidala, Dirk was was dressed in a skeleton suit, and Kilmore wore a silver suit with a hood, maybe an astronaut.  Brandon introduced Mike as Queen Medula Ablingada.

Notes: Somewhere in the set, between songs Brandon started singing, "the stars at night.....are big and bright....(clap, clap, clap, clap,) - points to the crowd, and on command, we all yell, "Deep in the heart of Texas!" He was jumping up and down with excitement and said "I saw that on TV once, but I didn't know if it would really work. you guys rock!" They then played a little hill-billy jam, with Mike using a banjo effect on his guitar.  Brandon also asked if anybody liked Brittany Spears and then through a picture of her into the crowd.

Notes: During Make Yourself (the crowd trampled the barricade in front just before the end so the band stopped, Brandon commented "shit almost got through it"... this caused -  5 min jazz/coffee house style improv (sounded like the acoustic certain shade of green) saying "please take 4 steps back" and "Lets all calm down so we can get back to the show" which just kept going and it was awesome... they couldn't fix it though, so the band went off the stage and came back 5-10 min later.  When Incubus came on stage Thriller by Michael Jackson was playing and the band came out dancing with their instruments. During the Deftones set, everyone in the band except Chino Moreno left the stage and Mike from incubus came out and sang teenager along side Chino.

Notes: With Deftones, POD, and Adam Sandler. Brandon did back up vocals and Mike played guitar on the Deftones song "Be quite and Drive (Far Away)" They talked about the tour with the Deftones and then played Steve Millers - "Joker".  This was for the MTV Movie Special - Little Nicky.

Notes: Before they took the stage, they were referred to as Michael Jackson, and "Thriller" was played. Brandon sang "ooh oohs" for end of Warmth, and let crowd sing last chorus of Pardon Me.  He also introduced Mike as Michael Jackson. During "Drive", Mike and Kilmore had a small slip up...the two just looked at each other and smiled and it was hardly recognizable.

Notes: Brandon wore a black bra on stage and threw it into the crowd.  During the middle of "drive" the monitors went out for a moment, making it hard for Kilmore and Jose to keep in sync...a fear Kilmore addressed in our interview with him. "Oohs" on last chorus of The Warmth, Thriller played on turntables before they came out, and after first song Kilmore started an improv jam that was really amazing. There were improv jams played between more than half the songs.

Notes: Brandon came out on stage with a bottle of purple Gatorade and said, "I have some purple vodka, who wants it" and handed it to someone, and they then played on.  The "Thriller" intro looks to be a hit, and will continue for every show. The crowd was throwing around a blown up condom, and Brandon also almost got hit with a water balloon.

Notes: Show sold out quickly. The melody to the song Glass was in the background after When It Comes, while Brandon talked to the crowd. Brandon informed the crowd during the "glass" interlude that they had been on the same stage 1 year earlier with primus and he thanked everyone for coming to see them again. Then he said that eagles ballroom basement is haunted because when they were getting ready there were tons of spiders and weird shit down there. Brandon sang "ooh oohs" for end of warmth, let crowd sing end of Pardon Me, called Mike "Michael Jackson", and band was introduced to "Thriller".  At end of Pardon Me, while Brandon was doing one of his
backward kicks while he sings, he accidentally hit Alex, who gently retaliated and laughed, then they had a mini-footwar, and when the song ended, hugged each other laughing.  Then Jose towel-whipped Kilmore while he
was walking off stage....the guys were having a lot of fun.

Notes: During the middle of the show, Brandon said: "I can't see you guys out there, but I sure can hear you".  Brandon left the crowd chat Pardon Me for awhile during the song, to get things moving.  Once again the band entered the stage to "thriller".  Also, Brandon dedicated the song stellar to someone in the "Adult Film Industry", which have later been told was a joke, he was dedicating it to his girlfriend. He also mentioned something about the pot smoke coming from the center.  Kilmore and Jose played catch with the drumsticks, and the band was very full of energy tonight.

Notes: Came on stage to "thriller" Mike wore his Michael Jackson shirt. As soon as Make Yourself started, the crowd started singing along, and the floor got really violent and pushy, even more than during taproot. Before nowhere fast played, Brandon introduced Mike as " this is Michael Jackson, he plays guitar". During Drive, people were still moshing and crowd surfing, but during The Warmth, they stopped, after the song Brandon thanked the audience for showing up. Brandon seemed to have a lot of fun saying "How are ya New Joisey!" He dedicated Stellar to a friend in the adult film industry, to which the crowd loved. During the last chorus of Pardon Me Brandon lifted the mic stand over his head and let the crowd sing.

Notes:They came out to Thriller, Brandon called Mike, Michael Jackson. Brandon said that he thought they played there before, at family values. Before they played Drive Brandon said they were going to get really
heavy metal for the crowd. Brandon asked the crowd "Do we say 'hello Lowell' or 'hello Boston"? Brandon labeled the crowd "Bostonites" because the venue was in Lowell but everyone was from Boston. During Stellar while singing Brandon made a round shape with his figures, symbolizing the earth coming up. Brandon said "Live Long and Prosper" to the crowd as he went off stage, an obvious sign that he's a star trek fan.  Brandon flipped off the crowd while on stage.
